Cannabis commerce is thought to be premised on a closed-loop intrastate market. In this webinar, we will explore and analyze the policies, purposes, restrictions, and unintended consequences on the distribution process of legal cannabis products, whether between local jurisdictions, states, and even international borders. You will be introduced to the prohibitive nature of cannabis laws and regulations that restrict cannabis businesses from engaging in reasonable commercial activity. We will explore the examples of statutes and regulations regarding the distribution of cannabis on a local level, state/state level, and internationally. The panel will analyze the constitutional limitations of state/state agreements and reciprocity, particularly the dormant commerce clause and relevant cast authority from the alcohol industry. Finally, conclusions will be drawn based on the public policy arguments militating towards and against the current rules.
Learning Objectives:
Registrants of the webinar will receive a 20% discount off the book retail price "Cannabis Law Deskbook, 2022-2023 Ed." with code CANABA20. Discount is valid from 2/1/2023 - 2/28/2023. To order visit: https://tinyurl.com/cannabislaw2023.
