Florida Rule Change

Florida Bar regulators have stated that attorneys will not receive Florida credit for any ABA program, even if they self-apply; speakers will not receive Florida credit for their participation in our programs; and, self-application forms submitted by attendees or speakers will not be approved. Programs approved by Florida prior to the Florida Supreme Court Order SC 21-28 remain approved for Florida credit.

Brian Peretti Speaks to Task Force

On June 7, Brian Peretti (Deputy Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer Director & Domestic and International Cybersecurity Policy Office of Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Protection at the Department of the Treasury) spoke with the Task Force. In this discussion, Mr. Peretti discussed Treasury's recent report on cybersecurity risks caused by AI in the financial sector.

On May 23, 2024, Cybersecurity Legal Task Force and Task Force on Law and Artificial Intelligence co-sponsored the Governmental Affairs Office's panel, "AI in the Legal Profession: Crash Course for Congress." Featuring CSLTF's Gage Javier and Harvey Rishikof, this panel served as a primer for policymakers, offering a concise overview of generative AI's definitions and key concept. Panelists provided expert opinions to aid Congress as it seeks to develop federal legislation to ensure the U.S. will continue to maintain and defend its position as the most innovative and industrious country in the world while preserving cherished American liberties and mitigating potential risks.
