The ABA Leadership Directory is a directory of individuals in active leadership positions with the Association and related organizations.
The 43-member Board of Governors has the authority to act and speak for the ABA, consistent with previous action of the House of Delegates, when the House is not in session. The Board usually meets four times a year. It oversees the general operation of the ABA and develops specific plans of action.
The ABA House of Delegates is the policy-making body of the association. The House meets twice each year, at ABA Annual and Midyear Meetings. At the Midyear Meeting, the Nominating Committee nominates officers and members of the Board of Governors.
The Office of the President assists the ABA presidential officers as they promote the legal profession through appearances and other activities.
The Officers of the ABA consist of the leaders of the Executive Committee, House of Delegates, Board of Governors, and the Executive Director.
The Section Officers Conference (SOC) comprises the leadership of the ABA Sections, Divisions, and Forum Committees.
The Office of the Secretary assists the ABA Secretary in preparing, maintaining and distributing minutes, notices, announcements, and other documents regarding the Board of Governors and the House of Delegates.
The Office of the Treasurer assists the the ABA Treasurer in creating reports and financial statements for the Board of Governors and the House of Delegates.
